Another day in the corporate world

Peeps,

With or without hair me I am thankful and will continue to thank him especially as this is my Month, the MONTH OF MAY.

I am persuaded that the wish of some BB (balding/balded bloggers) will not come to pass, when help is available from sharp babes like Sherri and LaReine. I will soon come and share my story probably even write a book on it self. I can see the title now it will be called "Opelope Anointing". Voila I am on the essential oil mix train o, anointing the bald areas at night according to info from Nappturality.com (cool site for hair). Another good site is the also long hair forumn.

So on a good day like that I decided to strike conversation with a colleague in the name of socialisation.

Now please understand that due to the stressful condition that the conversation created, the victim a.k.a myself could not possibly have remembered what he said word for word but the conversation below will give you an idea of my ordeal.

30+: "Good morning Kevin, I hear you grow daisies"

Kevin: “Funny thing you should say that it’s a good morning because when I woke up this morning the daisies behind my bedroom window overlooking the gnomes and the lililies were witling despite the fact that spring is here. And I thought this is not a good morning I suspect that the rain from yesterday which was about 4 inches must have drowned them and as you probably know next to Tulips, daisies are the most delicate of all biennial flowers. I remember when we went to Sweden’s national park and the tour guide mentioned that they had a breed of ducks which were just like pink flamingos. The ducks actually were all lined up by the brooks of the water which was surrounded by daisies similar to the one in my back garden. Actually do you want to see the pictures that I took on that trip to Sweden? Sweden was more of a stop over than the holiday destination, because that summer we were actually headed for Berlin, from Stansted. I remember vividly because it was the Independence Day in the United States…..blah blah”.

20mins later (no exaggerations) I am wondering why I did not listen to my first instinct that said 'avoid socialisation till you have had your Tea and Breakfast'

Please my peepos, how in the name of all things designer labelled do you tell your colleague that he is talking too much. Bear in mind that I could not really say what was on my mind, which was something along the lines of "Chai Bros you too dey yarn dust, abeg hol your side and daisies make I go chop" or "abeg e don do, I just dey form, I have no interest whatsoever in daisies if they want to wilt they can wilt infact I can't tell a daisy from tulip even if my life depended on it" or "Okay give me a break I do not give two monkeys about poxy flowers like that, I am just trying to appear as an inclusive part of the team .....

Anyone seeing the stock market, food and petrol prices....starts to hum 'we shall overcome'

Till later

SHALOM

Lol!
I know exactly what you mean. I've got a colleague who just goes on and on and on and on and .....
and on and on and on
Thankfully, my boss likes to indulge her by asking questions....which only makes her go on and on and on some more! When it gets too much i just pretend i'm working (most of the time i'm actually IM-ing my friends)

Dont get me wrong...i'm a good listener. A very good one actually. But when you've made your point...move on the next one now. Dont keep banging on and on and on...

As you can see, this is a matter close to my heart :(

How are you anyway? Me i've given up on my hair line. I fought the battle for several years...and NOTHING! I use LFWs now. Have a lovely day, babes.

FIRST!!! (couldnt resist that!)

ha ha

which kain person be this?

Well, maybe because he is passionate about it. but he shouldn't bore others by going on and on and on about his passion.

We need to sing the song with all energy indeed.

We shall overcome someday!

Nice weekend dear.

I am laughing my head off. What were you thinking of when you decided to engage in a "socializing" conversation? All that one na oyinbo man crap. You never make small talk in the office..especially with an oyinbo person because you will be begging for deliverance by the time the conversation is over. The ones I fear the most are the "socializing" conversations you did not invite. The ones where you are literally hijacked/kidnapped into listening to some old man/woman's rants.. worse part is you have to remain polite and pretend like you are interested. Chei.. the thought alone is giving me goose bumps

@UCS, I just have to laugh cos I so know where you are coming from, apparently they say I am also a good listener.

@Darkelcee, guess some people don't know when to stop. Have a nice weekend there and keep singing along.

@Writefreak, no be me ask him question.

@Freeflowing, laugh at him ke, wish I could. You don't have to wait for end of the world better just get right with Him today :)

@Smaragard, the same way words fail.

@Tolantino, if not the pretending part it would not be bad because at least you can just tell them that "e don do" but kno... professionalism prevails.

Perhaps u should have told him about your friend Daisy and how she was caught in the rain without a brolly.

ChiefO said...

you know things are bad when COSTCO put a limit to the amount of stuff u can buy e.g. limit 2 bags of Rice....

gas prices are competing with the sky to see which is higher. $3.85 for a gallon. DAM BO RO BA SHEGE! thank God we dont need to drink it to survive.

Thirty + said...

@Diamond, Not necessarily good, see soupasexy comment below.

@Soupasexy, I think I was trying not to be rude hence my endurance.

@Pamela, Amen

@Jaycee, that is the funny thing I wonder myself at how I can be patient at some things. See comment to Naapali below. Yes o I am now mixing peppermint oil, virgin olive oil, sulphur and vitamin E.

@Naapali, I could not even think, was just tryna to listen and at some point was thinking of how he must live alone with no one to talk to....

@Cheifo, thank God we don't drink it but em what about the rice biz

Balding- U shoudl go natural. I bet yoru hair is permed. Not everyone's hair can take the punishment of all these unhealthy chemicals.

I used to have long permed hair then I turned 19 and a bald patch started appearing in the middle of my head . I chopped my hair all off let it grow naturally and I haven't looked back since. . Its beautiful healthy and strong . Give all the hamful chemicals a rest and you may stop balding.

Colleague- find polite ways to extricate yoruself . You odnt have to stay whilst someoen bores u . a few sentences such as "best get back to work ...no rest for vthe wicked"...Ohh I forgot I was on my way to make a cup of tea etc should help u out

@Zephi, my car is on semi active mode right now.

@Anon gal, yes we shall, yes we shall

@Unmodern, you assume the said person gave the opportunity for you to talk about your tea. In an ideal setting there will be some pause, comma or full stop that will alow you to say your own.

@Naijachickito, shey

Me neglect blogsville? That would be the day. I been lolling since reading your posts. I'd advice that next time you intend on office 'socializing', do that after you've eaten if not, by the time the talk talk ends, you'd be too tired to eat. (lol)...okay so i am back and i aint going nowhere.
Muah!!
Oh and for the balding hair...yikes!! That 2 ltrs per day would do you good. hahahahaha Ok on a serious note, don't do anything other than braiding and retouching your hair. No extensions, so dyeing no nothing. Just braid and retouch the hair when necessary plus wash hair regularly and never let scalp go dry. Trust me girl...I've been there and today...people comment on how beautiful my hair looks. All the balding dissappeared.
Catch ya!
