Preparing for Different Strokes

Hi Peeps,

To him from whom all blessings come be praise and glory titilai, amen.

I have been reading some of this naija folks saying it's cold in Nigeria at the moment witht he harmattan and all. I am reading and thinking yeah right come over when you wear 4-5 layers and you still drinking Tea every hour as if it's going out of fashion.

The northerly or is it westerly winds was blowing so hard on Tuesday the thing nearly carried me off ground opelope ajesara of starch okele in different forms. If I had reached my target weight the wind for carry me. I am determined to walk to work so I just giddy up (add more layers if need be) and keep walking.

My friend then calls me on Tuesday and when I mentioned weather she just said meshionu (i.e. keep shut) "go online now and google for the temperature in my city" (she is in canada), guess what the temp was -15c kilode (mouth wide open), I meshionued one time.

So if Adam and Eve were naked in the garden, that means there was no winter in the garden of Eden abi there was no winter at all?

Shall we blame the weather on the eating of apple, because it seems as if "in the beginning it was not so" (to borrow someone's favourite phrase).

If the garden of Eden is a tropical country and I am from a tropical country (Naija) that means I am seriously blessed. Maybe I should just carry bags back to Lasgidi....

I got a mail in my inbox and it kind of set me thinking.....

As much as I try not to fret, all this recession talk is causing me to access, another interest rate cut in how many weeks, it's like the desperate measure of a man fighting Titanic.

I wonder how prepared generally for the future but also specific to the current economic situation around me.

My question is how prepared are you for the next stroke be it a relationship, marriage, children, unexpected Economic downturn, your future e.t.c?

Hmmn let me go and do some thinking and planning

Holla back, Shalom

a LOT of us are in the category that Jinta has described. We need to change that before we get a raw deal on a rainy day.

i tried to post a message yesterday but hem the wireless connection i was using was sick.lol!

hmm, our weather in naija is not "too" normal. the cold is rather harsh and unfriendly but really cannot be compared to -10 abi?

i believe this statement strongly-

"When God takes you to it He will take you thru it"

I know i am not prepared for anything cos by myself i can do nothing but with God ALL things will be possible.

Sweetheart,

just trust in the Lord with all your heart , he will direct your path if/when you dont lean on ur own understanding.

love

Very thought provoking post. My mister is in Canada, and he told me that the temp was 43 below last week, so he's ready to come back to Houston. I swear Houston hardly ever breaks below 37 degrees. It's always hot and humid here.

I have been doing much pondering over the impending recession here as well. I have high hopes and dreams, so yes, I have been planning for the future. I want to get married and possibly have one more baby, hopefully a girl this time! LOL

This recession that the US is having will affect everybody. But those of us with children are really worried. Anyway, all one can do is save and spend wisely. With 3 kids, we will spending lots of money for education, so belt tightening began long before recession talk started. lol

Regarding a recession, i dont know much about these kind of things but one thing that has been troubling me is the decline of the dollar. I think I will put this situation into prayers and start to ask God for divine intervention. I work as an expat and my wages are paid in USD. Every time I look at my account.. i just cringe cos i know that the value of my money keeps declining on a daily basis. Na this bush guy cause everything.. the dollar was doing great until You-Know-Who started waging war around the globe...

@Mommy, na MINUS o as in -15c. It snowed here on Friday, Sunday weather changed although it's still like 6c.

@Solomonsydelle, so is it official, I mean the Recesssion because what's his face is fighting back seriously.

@Tolantino, may be you should renegotiate for payment in Naira because naira is gaining everyday.

It is funny how we complain about our living condition but when we listen to another's complain...we just shut our mouth up so we don't sound ungrateful...

Tolantino said...

@ Doja - Some of us are definitely on the other side of the fence and it aint nice.

@ Miss Opeke - True talk. Person wey get cap no get head and the ones wey get head no get cap

@30+ - I been meaning to say this but babes.. it is very difficult to read the comments on your blog. Light font against white background dey hurt my eyes.. unice-combo. My vision is already 50% below 20/20. Please do sumfink love.
